Privacy Policy

Clear information about what we collect, why we use it and the choices available to you.

01

About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Janja Adventures collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you browse our website, contact our team, use the Safari Planner or request a lodge booking.

By sharing information with us, you acknowledge the practices described here. We only request information that helps us respond to you, plan your journey, manage a booking or improve our services.

02

Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

  • Contact details such as your name, email address, telephone number, country and preferred contact method.
  • Journey details including destinations, dates, traveller numbers, accommodation preferences, budget range and special requests.
  • Booking information required by lodges and travel partners, which may include traveller names, nationality, dates of birth and passport details when necessary.
  • Technical information such as browser type, device information, IP address and basic website usage data.
  • Messages and correspondence you send to our team.
03

How we use your information

  • Responding to enquiries and creating personalised safari proposals.
  • Checking availability and coordinating services with lodges, guides, transport providers and other travel partners.
  • Managing bookings, payments, customer support and important journey communications.
  • Meeting legal, accounting, fraud-prevention and safety obligations.
  • Improving our website, services and guest experience.
  • Sending marketing updates only where you have consented or where permitted by law; you may opt out at any time.
04

When information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We share only what is reasonably necessary with trusted service providers involved in planning or delivering your journey, such as lodges, airlines, ground handlers, guides, payment providers and technology suppliers.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, to protect travellers and our business, or in connection with a legitimate business reorganisation. Our partners may operate in countries with different data-protection rules, so we take reasonable steps to work with responsible providers and limit what is shared.

05

Payments and sensitive information

Card numbers, CVVs, PINs and banking passwords must be entered only into the secure system of an authorised payment provider. Our website email API is designed not to receive, store or email raw payment credentials.

We may retain non-sensitive payment information such as an amount, payment status, transaction reference, deposit and remaining balance for booking administration.

06

Retention and security

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required to provide services, maintain booking and accounting records, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations.

We use appropriate administrative and technical safeguards, restricted access and reputable service providers. No online system is completely risk-free, so please avoid sending sensitive payment credentials or unnecessary identity documents by ordinary email.

07

Cookies and website data

Our website may use essential cookies and similar technologies to support navigation, remember preferences, understand performance and protect forms from abuse. Where required, optional analytics or marketing technologies should be used only with appropriate notice or consent.

You can manage cookies through your browser, although disabling essential technologies may affect how parts of the website work.

08

Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent or request a portable copy. Some records may need to be retained for legal or contractual reasons.

  • Update inaccurate contact or traveller information.
  • Unsubscribe from marketing communications.
  • Ask how your information has been used or shared.
  • Raise a concern about privacy or request deletion where legally available.
09

Children’s information

A parent, guardian or authorised lead traveller should provide information relating to children. We use those details only where needed to plan or deliver the journey and do not knowingly market directly to children.
