Terms & Conditions

The important details that help us plan responsibly, set clear expectations and protect your journey.

01

Agreement and scope

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Janja Adventures website and the travel-planning and booking services we provide. By using the website, submitting a request or confirming a booking, you agree to these terms together with the specific proposal, invoice and supplier conditions provided for your journey.

If booking-specific written terms conflict with this general page, the booking-specific terms will apply to that booking.

02

Enquiries and booking requests

Website submissions, Safari Planner results, lodge requests and estimated prices are enquiries only. A booking is not confirmed until availability has been checked, final terms and price have been provided, any required traveller details are received, and Janja Adventures issues written confirmation after the required payment.

Availability and rates may change before confirmation. Automated acknowledgements confirm receipt only and are not booking confirmations.

03

Prices and payments

Unless stated otherwise, prices are estimates based on the itinerary, traveller numbers, season, room arrangements, exchange rates, taxes and supplier rates available when quoted. Your written proposal will identify inclusions, exclusions, currency, payment schedule and any applicable fees.

Payments must be made through an approved method shown on our invoice or secure payment page. Never send card numbers, CVVs, PINs or banking passwords through an enquiry form or ordinary email. You are responsible for bank, card and currency-conversion charges unless we agree otherwise.

04

Changes and cancellations

Tell us promptly if you need to change or cancel a journey. Supplier change fees, cancellation charges and non-refundable commitments may apply. The amount depends on the services booked and how close the request is to departure.

If we or a supplier must make a material change, we will explain the available options as soon as reasonably possible. Minor operational adjustments may be necessary to protect safety, respond to local conditions or maintain the overall quality of the journey.

05

Traveller responsibilities

  • Provide complete and accurate names, dates, contact information and other booking details by the stated deadlines.
  • Check passports, visas, permits, vaccinations, health guidance and entry requirements for every destination and transit country.
  • Disclose relevant mobility, dietary, medical or accessibility requirements early enough for us to assess suitable arrangements.
  • Follow reasonable safety instructions, local laws, wildlife rules and the policies of guides, camps and transport providers.
  • Review all confirmations promptly and report errors without delay.
06

Travel insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and may be required for some journeys. Cover should be appropriate for safari activities and include medical treatment, evacuation, cancellation, interruption, baggage and personal liability.

You are responsible for understanding your policy’s limits, exclusions and claims process. Janja Adventures does not provide insurance advice unless expressly authorised to do so.

07

Independent travel suppliers

Lodges, airlines, guides, vehicle operators and other suppliers provide components of your journey under their own terms. Janja Adventures selects and coordinates suppliers with care but does not control every operational decision or event.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss caused by an independent supplier, traveller action, inaccurate information provided by a traveller, or events beyond reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

08

Events beyond reasonable control

Travel can be affected by severe weather, wildlife conditions, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, government action, border restrictions, industrial disputes, civil unrest, infrastructure failure or similar events. These may require itinerary changes, postponement or cancellation.

We will provide reasonable assistance, but additional costs and supplier terms may apply. Refunds are subject to amounts recoverable from suppliers and the terms of your booking and insurance.

09

Website use and intellectual property

Website content is provided for general information and may change without notice. Destination descriptions, availability and prices are not guarantees until confirmed in writing.

Janja Adventures owns or licenses the website’s branding, design, text, photographs and other content. You may view it for personal travel planning but may not reproduce, sell, scrape or commercially exploit it without written permission.

10

Privacy and communications

Our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. By submitting an enquiry, you authorise us to contact you about that request through the contact methods you selected. Marketing communications remain optional and can be withdrawn.

11

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you. We encourage you to contact us first so concerns can be addressed fairly and promptly.

Questions about these terms may be sent to info@janjatours.com or submitted through the Contact page.
